The Drift

Updated: Mar 13

A girl taking a selfie being perfect and winking.

When friendships drift,

Maybe not the intent,

It was life in the wings,

It was new places, new things.

When friendships drift,

Conversations not sent,

Days a few hours,

Faces to fading flowers.

When friendships drift,

Where has time went?

It's been a year today,

The drift 365 days relayed.

When friendships drift,

Head up, not bent,

Trust this day, this place,

The Earth, our common space.

When friendships drift,

Smile, then relent,

This is what's meant to be,

Faces in frames through the journey.
